love. life. and all the rest.

we have summer days and my parents are visiting. the kids are happy and we've painted a few rooms. and then we got a wood oven for those cold winter days. they still here, even though a couple of days with 25+ degrees make them feel far away.

i hardly spent much time on the internet. meaning i don't really blog (except, i am. now). i don't take many "real" photos with the big camera. i post on instagram and i guess in some ways it serves the same purpose blogging does. the sharing of thought, following up on bits and pieces.

but i miss this too. like i miss reading those books i have been meaning to read and those movies i have waiting for me to watch. for some reason my days just seem to fly buy without much time to get caught up in blogging, reading or watching.

and i try to embrace that. it's a phase in life, right now. and other things are filling my time and making me tired by the end of the day.

bits and pieces

weekend coming up. we'll be home. it's pouring down and really cold. i'm baking bread and there'll be something warm and comforting for dinner. besides the food i'm planning to treat myself to some movie entertainment.

i watched moonrise kingdom the other night. it was beautiful, aesthetically, and i loved the references to 60s gothic movies. that said, i must admit i was a bit bored from time to time. too much form, too little content for me. we also watched argo and i liked it. great story - and i'm old enough to get amused with flashbacks to those brown seventies. beast of the southern wild is in the pipeline, and i know we have a few more good movies stashed on the harddrive, so yes, i'm ready and prepared for the rainy days ahead

oh, and we got he first couple of seasons of breaking bad on dvd. i've heard by the water cooler that it's really addictive. this weekend's weather report will probably have us dig into that too.

staying around

hello. it's been a while. we've had sun and rain and stormy weather and now we're back to rainy days.

we might end up staying. what can i say. not sure if all the drama and emotion we had around whether to stay or move on, and then how far to move, was really necessary. from the outside not much happened the last month, but between D and i it's been quite emotional and "where do we want to be in 2 years, 3 years...". and now, it seems like it wasn't really such a big deal. we'll probably be right here.

at least that's how it seems right now. but since it's not 100% sure, and some details still needs some sorting it could still change. but for now we're resting in the thought that it might just be right here we belong, at least for a little longer than we thought last week.

winter here and there :: instagram selection

we're cold. really cold. winter time can be a challenge. despite being 20 degrees warmer here +10 compared to some of our days in denmark -10, we feel much colder. in denmark the houses are warm. isolated and with heating. here the houses are build to keep cold. and oh my, do they stay cold in a period like this with 10 degrees and a rain storm lasting for days... yes they do!

the heating in our house is radiators and aircon. the radiators keeps you warm as long as they're on and you don't move more than a meter a way from it. obviously that limits activities and general movement. the aircon is only slightly more effective than that.

enough complaints. the sun came back yesterday and i started the day by watching a beautiful double rainbow. and i've been digging out my beloved woolen poncho.

we've made up our minds. we'll leave the house, but will most likely stay in the country. question is where to go.
