holiday season

so, it began. the holiday season. hanukka is coming up, and christmas is starting to show in our house. so far i made some felted hearts from an old sweater, set out the little angels, and hung the mobile my mother brought me. by the way, this mobile was my grandmother's. it's from the early 1960s and it is absolutely adorable when it's moving up there in the corner.

but beside these decorations it's hard to tell it's christmas. especially since we are in the middle of a 25 degrees celcius heat wave, sitting outside for breakfast under the palm trees. so we had to bring the christmas calendar candle out there with us to remember. that it is indeed that time of the year. (and yes, we're not in schedule with the candle, but we'll get there, sooner or later. we always do)

  4. I love your hanging branch with your felt hearts! I will have to do exactly the same decoration:). And yes, the advent candle under palm trees must take some getting used to for a nothern European (and for a southern European, I can assure you!)

  20. i love your "upcycled" (it's the new black) felted hearts and how these decorations have such a scandinavian feel.
