those last weeks

in denmark. summed up in random photos. it's been so overwhelming to come back in so many ways, not bad, just... a lot of stuff going on.

i still need to catch my breath which is the reason i haven't been around. i have had no time to sit down and no idea where to start. alas, one step back we go, to those last weeks we spent in denmark. some of the people, some of the places.

family picnic

a few weeks back we went on a family picnic in a forest north of copenhagen. it was a great day.

today we celebrated daniel's 5th birthday in the garden. D is going back tomorrow. i have another weeks with the kids before reality kicks in. and a one day trip with work to helsinki, leaving tomorrow night.

on another note: my camera lense is making problems. i need to have it fixed when i get back. it gets stucked and cannot seem to focus right.

postcards round two

continuing with postcards from denmark. here's sun and rain, danish summer as we know it. we're taking it easy, but the days seem a bit hectic anyway. probably how it's supposed to be with kids.

we've been seeing friends and family, beautiful places, danish summer at it's finest.

returned home, and have relaxed in the garden. tomorrow the man is flying into town and that is good. we miss him. i miss him.

we're off for the countryside tomorrow. taking the kids on the road. will be back in a couple of days.

beach brunch on board

before we left, brunch on the beach with friends visiting from abroad.

this seems pretty far away right now, even if the sun has been shining today and i believe we must have passed the 20 celcius spot on the thermometer.

...and with this i should be over and done with the middle eastern beach photos for now. we'll soon move on and catch up with our days in denmark.

today i found a box of my old photos, pre-digital age. i was looking for photos while traveling in indonesia some time that seems like a 100 years ago. probably closer to 15 years, not sure.

we'd been at the zoo museum and i was going to show the boys photos of the me and a komodo dragon. thought i could impress them, you know, komodo dragons are fascinating, especially if you're 4 to 6 years old.

anyway, i went down memory lane. looked at other photos. people i hardly know any longer. myself, so young to look at. time really does fly. better pay attention.

before we left

the sunset a few days before we took off for denmark. we're here now. not many sunsets so far. it's been cold, with constant change between sun and rain. it's been a nice change from the middle eastern heat wave that treated us with boiling hot days up to 43 celcius.

so, all's good. spent the last four days just settling in and relaxing with the family. relaxing and eating.started running again yesterday. i completely gave up on that in the weeks of the heat wave back home.

also, the weeks up until we left were a bit hectic. didn't have much time for commenting or replying to comments.
