new beginnings

i love hyacinths. the sweet smell makes me happy. and right now this smell fills the air in our house. oh, and i love the color too. only problem is i never managed to save the bulbs and get them to bloom again. if you have any tricks, you are so very welcome to share.

and since so many of you asked: yes, i really liked egg nog. loved it, actually. i don't have much to compare with, since this is the only one i tried, but i thought it was a bit in the category of baileys. or white russians. i like both, so that's good. anyway, i am happy i am not living in a country where egg nog is served every other day throughout december. because then i'd probably have a glass every other day.

the new year, and with that a new decade, is fast approaching. and i lost my - relatively - new job. investors pulled from the part i was involved in. it bugs me a bit that the comfort and calm that had just settled is now being interrupted. it felt good. and now i need to figure out what to do. i have worked a lot with hi tech and internet, pr and marketing. but right now i don't feel like it. i feel like new beginnings, but cannot put my finger on what exactly. and feelings don't pay the bills.

on the other hand, this means the new year could be a new beginning, whether it's a new job or a new career. a blank page to be filled, full of possibilities. or at least that's what i am trying to tell myself right now. this could be good.

  1. I am seeing so many new beginnings, fresh starts, and clean slates this coming year. I'm not usually that way.

Also, you've reminded me that I have bulbs that I've been saving and this would be a great time of year to plant them in a pot for flowers right before spring. Thank you for that bit of inspiration.

  3. I love the new beginnings too, but usually they come for me with lot of stress. You seem pretty serene: love your way of thinking and rationalizing.
    Sending your way thoughts!
And as we say in Marseille: "bon bout d'an" . We never wish "happy new year" before new year: superstition, so we wish a happy ending of the year:)

  5. It is sad when a door closes, but with all of your talent I'm sure there is a door ready to be opened. I truly believe!! I think it is life's way of giving you a little nudge. I look forward to reading the soon to be "filled" blank pages. Hugs to you my friend! xo...

    PS I like hyacinths too.

  8. oh, that's a tough one! ending a job when it's your own choice is one thing, but having someone else make the decision for you (especially when you enjoy what you are doing) is entirely another! you have a healthy and positive perspective on the situation and i'm sure that will help you to find a great beginning to your next phase.

thanks for sharing so much of your life and wonderful thoughts with all of us here. i wish you the best for 2010!

  14. hey trinsch, just read this. what a bummer about the job. for me though, losing my job five years ago was a blessing in disguise. it made me stop and since and i've starting working freelance then. i haven't been looking back...

wishing you lots of ideas and new openings!
