a winter diet

i really admire those who choose not to take antibiotics. if i know there's a way to get rid of the sickness and a painfully swollen throat in 24 hours or so, i will take that. any day. but it does concern me a bit that it's not more than 6 months ago i had another round of antibiotics. also a throat infection. just cannot stand being sick. so, antibiotics and chicken soup it is.

  7. Hot lemonade and honey is what I use for the throat, and it seems to work well...

Wishing you a quick recovery! xo

  8. I wish that I had some sage advice to offer, but I don't. I haven't had antibiotics in 18 years. I'm not sure why.

I do heartily endorse kombucha though. It's my newest favorite thing. It kept away several viruses that my daughter caught.

  9. Sorry to hear you are sick. I recently started using the Netti pot to clean my nasal passages and to help clear up sinsus problems. The salt water actually soothes my sinuses.....maybe you should give it a try. It really works well on nasal conjestion too.

Hot tea and honey for a sore throat, plus Tylenol!

  10. Aw! I hate sickness. Eat some yogurt with live cultures, too. They will build back the good bacteria that the antibiotics destroy :)

  11. Sometimes antibiotics and a spoonful of sugar are necessary. Drink lots of fresh orange juice, and take care!
