corner view - famous
they are back, our famous pecans. strictly speaking they are our neighbor's, i must admit. but this tree just gives so many, it's unbelievable.
they owe their fame to this yummy pie, which i am planning to make this weekend. my friend from denmark will arrive this friday, and i think a pie is just in place.
but first i must tend to 2/3 of my little ones. we have fever and flue in the house, so far only two and i am crossing my fingers it'll stay with that. luckily the weather is lovely these days, and so we could go outside and get some fresh air, while resting in the shade.

I was lucky enough to have some of your wonderful pecans!! They were so good too. I actually saved 3 of them for a couple of reasons. One they came from a friend across the bay of water, they traveled many miles, I like the color and texture of them. I hope everyone gets back on their feet before you friend arrives. Enjoy your pie and visit.xo
ReplyDeleteHope you two little ones get well, and can enjoy the pecan pie!
ReplyDeleteI have never tried a pecan pie (o another pie for that mater). Making that for your danish friend i an excellent idea!
ReplyDeletehope your little people get better soon... so sad to have the sniffly, hot sickies around!!!
ReplyDeletebut, mmm for the pecans. they grew in my home state (GA), and i loved gathering them in fall and cracking them open to eat fresh.
Hope your little ones are feeling better soon. That pie looks delicious! Especially on those lovely blue china plates. I'm partial to blue and white china...
ReplyDeleteI love pecans. I put them in a cake that I made yesterday. So yummy!
ReplyDeletedear trinsch. pecans forever! :-) mmmmhhhh....looks so yummy your pecan pie. i've just right now eaten pecans together with some raisins. but i think fresh from the tree they are much more better. how are you my dear? it has been a lot since i left some word here. sorry about that. but i know. that you are the one that understands exactly how it is. life with children, family, work....it's nice to have blogs where we remind us about the happy and cozy things in life. although our life is "supercalifragilisticexpialegetisch". never the same. and always like a wild roller coaster ride ;-) send you a big hug. and send you all the best and a bit of fairy glitter for your little ones*
ReplyDeleteOh pecans! We had several pecan trees in our yard in Texas--I sure miss them. Nothing like a pecan pie! My absolute favorite. Though I also like this recipe from Martha for pecan bars, too... http://www.marthastewart.com/recipe/pecan-squares
