staying around

hello. it's been a while. we've had sun and rain and stormy weather and now we're back to rainy days.

we might end up staying. what can i say. not sure if all the drama and emotion we had around whether to stay or move on, and then how far to move, was really necessary. from the outside not much happened the last month, but between D and i it's been quite emotional and "where do we want to be in 2 years, 3 years...". and now, it seems like it wasn't really such a big deal. we'll probably be right here.

at least that's how it seems right now. but since it's not 100% sure, and some details still needs some sorting it could still change. but for now we're resting in the thought that it might just be right here we belong, at least for a little longer than we thought last week.

winter here and there :: instagram selection

we're cold. really cold. winter time can be a challenge. despite being 20 degrees warmer here +10 compared to some of our days in denmark -10, we feel much colder. in denmark the houses are warm. isolated and with heating. here the houses are build to keep cold. and oh my, do they stay cold in a period like this with 10 degrees and a rain storm lasting for days... yes they do!

the heating in our house is radiators and aircon. the radiators keeps you warm as long as they're on and you don't move more than a meter a way from it. obviously that limits activities and general movement. the aircon is only slightly more effective than that.

enough complaints. the sun came back yesterday and i started the day by watching a beautiful double rainbow. and i've been digging out my beloved woolen poncho.

we've made up our minds. we'll leave the house, but will most likely stay in the country. question is where to go.

positioned for art

looked through old photos because i don't have anything else to do. except maybe i could have cleaned up this mess we call home or done some actual working of the kind that pays bills. but no. why would i do such a thing when i can look at photos, like these from aRos - the art museum in aarhus, denmark.

i then realized the littlest guy had gone through the museum and taken this position every time he stopped to take a closer look. if you didn't know better you'd actually think he was a quiet and silent boy. he's not. he's sweet, but in a loud, clear and fast-moving way.

by the way, the piece in the middle was quite in-your-face. can't remember the artist, but i do remember how the boys were equally intrigued and disgusted. and how i was trying to talk a bit of child sense into it. i am pretty sure i didn't succeed.

those last weeks

in denmark. summed up in random photos. it's been so overwhelming to come back in so many ways, not bad, just... a lot of stuff going on.

i still need to catch my breath which is the reason i haven't been around. i have had no time to sit down and no idea where to start. alas, one step back we go, to those last weeks we spent in denmark. some of the people, some of the places.

i will be back soon....

family picnic

a few weeks back we went on a family picnic in a forest north of copenhagen. it was a great day.

today we celebrated daniel's 5th birthday in the garden. D is going back tomorrow. i have another weeks with the kids before reality kicks in. and a one day trip with work to helsinki, leaving tomorrow night.

on another note: my camera lense is making problems. i need to have it fixed when i get back. it gets stucked and cannot seem to focus right.

postcards round two

continuing with postcards from denmark. here's sun and rain, danish summer as we know it. we're taking it easy, but the days seem a bit hectic anyway. probably how it's supposed to be with kids.

hope you're enjoying summer too.
