about broken beauty and lazy weekends

this pretty, perfectly smooth, white stone fell to the floor. it broke into four pieces. and now it fascinates me the way only the broken beauty can.

like in 'anthem' by leonard cohen: there's a crack, a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in. even though it's not really the same. or maybe it is.

i still didn't find the right moment to write about the leonard cohen concert here in tel aviv on sep 24. for some reason i have hesitated. maybe laziness? but i really should, because it was an amazing experience - for a lot of reasons. every little detail came into place and made it just right.

but for now i'm just going to continue in weekend mode:

can you sense the laziness? i'm planning on continuing like this tomorrow.

wishing you a perfect (lazy) weekend (with a tiny crack, of course).

  1. dear trinsch, a wonderful coincidence, so let's go togehter to india with all our kids ;-) yes, i think especially mothers have to dream big. about leonard cohen, i'm very curious to hear about the concert. i don't know why, but when i hear leonard cohen i always remember the real (and sad) love story behind the song: so long marianne. and i like the broken stone and i'll try it with the lazy weekend, although i've to work tomorrow night. wish you happy days and very much laughter together with your family*

  3. Hello Trinsch, another coincidence - tonight we had dinner with friends of ours who told us about seeing Leonard Cohen in Chicago this summer & what a transformative experience it was...

We have a birthday and a lazy weekend in store for us too, hope you are enjoying yours :)

  7. I've been staring at the picture of your little boy for a while now. There's just something about it; the composition, the colours, the bare legs. Very powerful!!
